I love a site where I can find stats to back up my theories and hypothesis’. (Dunno if that is how you punctuate hypotheses in the plural.) Usually I have to track down first references for quality statistics. I’ll give Swivel a spin.

Okay, I just took Swivel for a spin. I found this handy graph that I got excited about discussing the numbers of women to men in public service jobs. The United States was at the bottom. But, then I noticed that they are comparing the United States to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – which is a rediculous comparison in terms of population, size, economics, industrialization, etc. A like-country comparison would be between the United States, Russia, European Union, China and Canada.

So, I’ll probably sift through Swivel if I need a statistic, but I would encourage everyone to carefully examine the graphs to determine if they are even relevant.
