Are You a Numbers Person?

numbersThere’s been some discussion going on in several areas around me recently that involves the whole numbers thing. Specifically, subscribers and traffic numbers.

Do you pay much attention to the number of subscribers a person has?

If the number is low, do you instantly think that person is unpopular or a poor writer without even giving them a chance?

Do you think people should put up their Feedburner Chicklet to display the number of readers they have or is that something that should be kept more private?

I’ll be honest, I’m looking at doing some housecleaning of my sidebars and quite frankly, AuctionAds will be the first to go – I’m sorely disappointed with them and for the amount of space I’m giving it, I think there are better things I can do with that space. I’m thrilled for those who are getting something from the program, but it just doesn’t suit my niche I suppose.

Aside from that, I’m not sure what should stay and what should go.

What do people actually look at and does it all eventually become like furniture and regular readers develop a blind eye to the sidebar existence?
