Thank you for this information.

I always wondered about this “no follow” because it’s pretty easy to delete comments that are SPAM anyway. I am still learning about blogs so i’m reading all i can get my hands on!

nick July 29, 2008 at 10:05 am

VHDLit hi! hice site!

Ex Smoker July 30, 2008 at 1:14 am

Here’s a question…how do you know someone is spamming? I mean, I could be spamming right now, here to “only” get a link in – or, I could actually be contributing to the conversation and dropping a link at the same time.

I mean…I know it’s confusing but I always delete the posts that really just have nothing to say. Spammer or no…either way, there is no contribution to my converation. So..If a spammer takes part in conversation, are they still a spammer?
:)

Heart and Style is now a “do follow” site.

Ann August 11, 2008 at 8:22 pm

I’ve also joined the u comment i follow movement and written a post about it. Let’s hope more people jump on board and do so! This can only help one’s page rank etc.

Keith November 2, 2008 at 11:46 pm

Great post!…and no, you’re not a selfish blogger! I think we all can be at times, but that’s just the nature of blogging – you gotta do what it takes to make you blog visible so people can read your stuff.

Matt Keegan February 22, 2009 at 1:14 am

No, I don’t think that you are a selfish blogger either.

My blogs are set up to allow comments, but they cannot be brief (one-liners) nor do I approve comments that are “attaboy” in nature.

U Follow/I Follow is meant to remind people that their comments are welcome, but they have to be relevant. In other words, spammers need not stop by!

Ryan March 4, 2009 at 10:03 pm

Cool, I’m going to use this on my blog, thanks indeed :D

Sharing the love with links will definitely increase the amount of traffic to your site, and as pointed out doesn’t hurt the site one bit. Thank you.

Zulit July 22, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Nice to see you came to your senses. I have always let legitimate bloggers link from their comments. The nofollow does not bleed my rank at all, and how does it hurt.

I still see many bloggers who will not approve comments from another blogger (especially if their blog looks REALLY good) because they fear their audience will skip off and they’ll lose them.

The VERY point of blogging is destroyed with this anal and egoic mindset.

Welcome back to a friendly universe.

We should thank you for giving such a wonderful blog. Your site happens to be not only informative but also very imaginative too. We find a limited number of experts who can think to write technical articles that creatively. All of us are on the lookout for information on something like this. I Myself have gone through several blogs to build up on knowledge about this.We look forward to the next posts !!

I don’t know what’s wrong with some bloggers. Just use the spam widget.
