Bamboo Towels – A MomGadget Review

by Gayla Baer

towels

When I first unwrapped my eco-friendly Bamboo Towel from The Company Store, it felt so silky soft I couldn’t imagine how it could possibly absorb moisture at all. It felt as though it might repel more than anything.

What I found is these towels are super absorbent in spite of being silky. The bamboo loops absorb water fast so that allows you to dry fast.

One of those fowl smells of summer I hate most, is moist towels that mildew. Even tossing them in the dryer seems to be a no win situation. The heat mixed with moisture tends to make matters worse.

With these bamboo towels – your towels stay fresh because they dry quickly and discourage that nasty mildew and bacteria growth.

These towels are made of a 70% bamboo/30% cotton material. And what’s more, the colors are created with certified low eco-impact dyes which means you’re making a purchase that’s a little bit more friendly to our environment.

Chlorine-and softener-free finishing preserves the purity and natural softness of the bamboo and although these towels feel as though they might be a precious and fragile luxury, they are machine washable for all us busy mom’s who don’t have time to worry about the gentle hand washing methods.

Again, this is one of those little luxuries that Mom would never dream of purchasing for herself. So any of you who might be searching for a great gift for mom, let her wrap herself in one of these after a long hot bubble bath and she’ll forget everything you did to cause the need for the bubble bath!

This is my favorite part. I hate the smell of the regular towel – specially when its wet for one or two days, brr.
So, watch out eco towels! Your biggest fan is coming!

The process of turning bamboo fiber into rayon ( which is what is adding the softness to the cotton) is not eco friendly in many cases. Please do your research before being fooled by ” eco-friendly claims”.
Yes bamboo itself may be eco friendlier than most crops. But that is not what you are buying in these fabric blends.
