by Gayla Baer

Bio Oil

Bio-Oil is an award-winning specialist skincare product that is clinically proven to improve the appearance of scars, pregnancy stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. Thanks to PurCellin Oil, a proprietary laboratory copy of the preen gland oil of ducks, Bio-Oil is also effective for many other skin conditions such as aging and dehydrated skin.

While I only have personal experience with some scaring, I have read other trusting reviews that suggest this is a miracle answer for such skin conditions as Rosacea, acne and more.

It sure beats the more expensive treatments and if you can get Bio-Oil and it work for you as well as it’s worked for countless others.

Bio-Oil is available on Amazonretail – $11.99

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I have used this product on my acne scarring and I have seen a pretty decent improvement. Not completely gone, but better. I will keep using it and see if I can clear this up completely.

Does this Bio oil cure the acne skin scars too? Is there any artificial chemical substance is used in this product.

Obviously there’s a lot to know about this. I think you made some good points about this. Great job!

I found the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer from the Made from Earth line is the best for improving skin tone. First, it WORKS! The company says to give it 4 weeks, but in as little as 1 there was a noticable difference in my two brown patches (on the driver’s window-side–sunblock, sunblock, sunblock!).

Also, I have super-sensitive skin which can’t decide if it’s dry or oily or just going to be both with the beginnings of wrinkles, but this product didn’t clog pores or feel gooey, and it didn’t dry me out or make me red.

It goes a long way – at first I thought it was expensive for 2 ounces but the jar has lasted me two months! Thats how potent it is – im actually saving money by using this because it replaces the other stuff that runs out so quick.

I’m pregnant now and one morning my husband says, “you should really make sure you put that cocoa butter all the way on the sides.”

I’m like “what?!?” and yes, sure enough, there were stretch marks radiatiing from my ribcage toward my belly, all the way around my front. It sort of looked like I got clawed by a tiger with about 40 toes, and each vertical mark was maybe 4 inches long. I went online that same day and bought the Dr Max Powers Stretch Mark Treatment, and applied it fatihfully several times a day to these new stretch marks for at least a week (now I remember only 2-3X/day). Now, about 4 weeks later, there is literally nothing there.

I’m choosing to buy this Max Powers Stretch Mark cream since it seems like the best price per ounce, and if I notice new marks, I want to be well-armed to treat them as soon as possible. Dr Max Powers does say their product works best on new marks, and I can certainly vouch for its effectiveness in my case. I’ve also been continuing to use cocoa butter cream mixed with pure vitamin E oil from the healthfood store ($5 for a small vial). After a friend’s doctor warned her not to use Vitamin E oil after varicose vein surgery, as the scars would heal too rapidly, I’ve been a believer in its powers.

Sounds like a good deal, although the name Bio-Oil is a strange name and kind of turns me off the product a little. But will none the less have to give it a go before I can make A comment on the product itself.

Skin care is a delicate art. I think only with a mix of natural remedies and artificial products can you expect best results for your problems.

I use this product as part of my own ongoing battle against rosacea. Rosacea is something that has affected me since my early thirties. I’m now 42. This definitely helps to reduce the redness I experience from time to time around my nose and cheeks.

Taking care of my skin is always a big deal especially the stretch marks and I would like to give this product a go and I to need to avoid getting more skin and beaty problems later on in life.

I’ve noticed that natural oil like coconut oil or mustard oil has more effect on the skin and removes the scars, cuts or any other visible mark in lesser time as well… At the moment, there are almost thousands of skinmedica products available in market which are really very good to buy.

I have used bio oil for a scar on my face. It takes a long time to see results, but it does work, my face looks better and clearer after using it.

Jerry "stretch mark sufferer" King May 9, 2011 at 8:55 pm

I’ve heard good things about this oil. I would say definitely worth trying initially as it’s a very fair price and as mentioned in the post has some clinical trials to back it up.

I decided to test products on the newest stretch marks I had, which were also the worst ones I’ve ever had and was really looking forward to get rid of. They were bright red, quite long and deep.

I’ve tried Avon stretch mark lotions, Mederma for stretch marks (which I hated and was over-priced), scar removal products, bio-oil, and plain cocoa butter lotions. None of those products worked, but Made from Earth’s Aloe & Jojoba Creme Therapy seems to be doing well. I’ve used about 1/3 of the product (for almost 3 weeks now), trying to remember to use it twice a day but sometimes only once. The product itself has a light citrus fresh smell (which I’m thankful for, the Mederma one I used smelled strongly of hospital soap, ew.), it has a consistency of whipped butter, it’s not oily.

The reason I decided to review it is because I actually do notice a difference which obviously surprises me since I’ve tried SO many things. They’re definitely not as bright red, more of a dull red. They’re a lot softer and not as deep. Once I’ve finished with this container, I plan on getting another one. I really think the Aloe & Jojoba Creme Therapy was a worthwhile purchase. If you do decide to buy this, just remember to use it twice a day and stay patient. I really didn’t notice a difference until almost 3 week’s use, but the difference is obvious.
