We all have complaints about the people we love and live with, but typically they don’t turn into book deals. But Zoe McCarthy (no relation to this reporter), a 44-year-old British woman who gained cult fame for operating a blog called “My Boyfriend is a Twat,†has recently cashed in on her significant other’s tics and quirks. McCarthy, according to the U.K.’s Observer, has received about a $10,000 advance from web-to-print publisher The Friday Project to turn her blog into a book. Not quite a Harry Potter-worthy figure, but nothing to scoff at either.
Apparently the ‘twat’ in this story helped set up the blog, so all is good in that department.
I’m not sure I could ever blog about my husband that way, of course if it were done tongue-in-cheek with a bit of fiction rolled in, it might be different.
I think this goes to show, yet again, that when you are passionate about any topic, no matter the topic, you can be successful at blogging.

I have a few friends that made their blogs into books. But like you, I dno’t think I could write about my hubby that way, even when he makes me mad. lol
My husband gets mad when I write about him in my blogs. He reads them all and frequently says, “take that off!” Which sucks because I could totally make millions. Maybe I should try an anonymous one secretly?
