CankerMelts – A MomGadget Review

cankermelts

One in every five Americans suffers from recurring canker sores.  While they are typically small, non-contagious ulcers found inside the mouth, my son suffers from cankers of the gargantuan type.  We’ve yet to figure out what causes his cankers, but when they do appear, which is often, they are very painful for him.  Now that he has braces, it seems the problem has gotten worse.

The millions of people who suffer from canker sores flock to the shelves of the local drugstore seeking treatment – others search online for some old fashioned home remedy that might have a proven track record.

Recently we were introduced to CankerMelts.  CankerMelts is an all-natural, over-the-counter canker sore remedy that soothes pain immediately and can reduce healing time from one to two weeks to as little as one to five days.

Sure enough, within a few weeks of receiving the product, my son developed a severe case of cankers.  I asked him to try CankerMelts and report back to me what he thought.

CankerMelts are medicated discs that are placed inside the mouth and over the actual sores.  They fit loosely so if you need to remove them, you can – easily and without pain.

Now, my son did have trouble getting the discs to stay in place and it took a little work.  He eventually did and I’m happy to report that he found more comfort with CankerMelts than he had with any other product or remedy we’ve tried thus far.

CankerMelts is available at most major drug store chains, such as Rite Aid and Longs, as well as online retailers like Drugstore.com and Amazon.com.

  • SRP of $7.99 for 12 discs
  • SRP of $15.99 for 24 discs

I get terrible canker sores from commercial toothpaste! I can use a “health store” brand, as long as it doesn’t contain sodium laurel sulfate with no problems. Most people are fine with SLS, but I’ve known a few friends who get canker sores from “regular” toothpaste.

YMMV…

My daughter just got braces & now has 2 large canker sores on the inside of her bottom lip. My question is are they very noticeable? She’s afraid she’ll look like she has a wad of something in her lip. Of course, that would be better that the pain those suckers cause! Right now her only treatment is rinsing with warm salt water.
Thanks

canker sores are awful, I consider myself lucky that I’ve only ever had one or two. But they were awful. They seemed to last forever and made eating really annoying. Cankermelts definitely sounds as if it could help!

Just stuck on my first CankerMelt on a sore and all I can say is OWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. It ‘s REALLY painful — like I just put lemon juice on it.

there are some toothpastes that dont have SLS, which is basically a very harsh detergent. lemon juice sounds painful, cant help thinking myrrh essential oil resin carried in salt and oil would be soothing. OW!
