Another way to conserve paper is to print on both sides of the page. I usually keep a stack of reusable paper on which I can print non-important documents. Once you get used to it, it works great and you would be surprised how much longer your paper will last.

My pages that I do with DSA are truly something I put together with my hands too. Each element is placed on the page one by one, stacked, cut out, stenciled, glittered, shadowed, etc. etc. etc. Then I can print each page 6 times and place them in my grandchildren's scrapbooks. The bonus is that all my supplies are on my hard drive! You can buy so many kits or separate papers and elements to do many pages, for so little, compared to several dollars for one page. I don't think it is fair to say that this is something NOT created with your hands. I have many people touch my pages because they think they have the textures of traditional scrapbooking. I say hooray for anyone who scraps in any way! It is a gift to the next generation!

That is neat and good for sharing with family. But I still prefer tangible scrapbooking. That really is something I put together and created with my hands.
