Do You Obsess Over Your Blog?

I’ve never been officially diagnosed, but it goes without saying, I’m a classic textbook case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In fact, I think I could be their Poster Child.

You can find me, on any given day, wiping down my kitchen counters at least 50 times per day or washing my hands twice that much.

I can’t say for certain, but I’m quite sure, that’s why I have taken to blogging like I have. There are times that my O.C.D. tendencies carry over into my blogging personality.

If you could take a glimpse into my early days of web design and blogging, you’d probably scratch your head and wonder — it was truly a mess! Nothing lined up (I love things that line up) – graphics were a complete nightmare.

There were many times I’d feel as though I were stuck and spinning my wheels trying to get the LOOK just right or the sidebars so-so.

When it comes to blogging, is there one thing you obsess about?

Have you found a way to deal with it and move on or are you still stuck?

I know, firsthand, the blogosphere is a virtual playground for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so I know there are plenty more of you out there.

Where are you?

I’m an obsessive proofreader, which makes blogging and web development take MUCH longer than it should!

I’ll usually proofread a blog post or article twice – very slowly – and then go do something else for 30 minutes and come back and proofread it again before I post it.

When people ask me what I do online, I say that I primarily blog, and they say “that’s it???”

Like I have time for anything else with all that proofreading I have to do! LOL

I don’t know if I call it an obsession. I’m really enjoying myself. So I love blogging and I love making my site better for my readers. Isn’t that a good thing?

Okay, you caught me…it is an obsession.

LOL I don’t know of a time when I ever felt more surrounded by OCD peeps. It’s the perfect partnership – blogging and OCD!

Perhaps that’s the key element in being a good blogger LOL

I obsess about my blog design. I so want to launch my own theme, but it’ll take an age. I begin from time to time, then end up thinking about customising a pre-made theme until it’s almost my own.

Curse you design.

I’ve had to set arbitrary limits on blogging, for example I’m loosely limiting myself to two posts a day. If I write another post I cue it for later so I have posts ready to go in the future.

As for what I obsess over too much: traffic. Google Analytics has so much information one can pore over.

I’m at the point where much of my traffic is from posts I’ve already written so I don’t need to constantly churn out new posts. Realizing that has led me to relax a bit and enjoying the experience more.

I am an obsessive compulsicve personality too,w hen iot comes to washing my hands. I have neve counted number of times I wash my hands. I have two kitchen dusters and two house dusters and so on and so forth. I have come to believe all of us do obsess over something or the other so never mind if you do too. As far as blogging is concerned I am more of net addict and now perhaps mylot addict.

I’m obsessive and I just started a little over a month ago! lol! I can’t think about anything else except promoting my blog, increasing my page rank, and what’s going to be my next topic…

Yep, I’m obsessive!

To be a real fun of what you are doing is a good thing, so i don’t see any bad in your obsessions with the things that you work on! Even more i can say that i’m more than sure that your works are always well-done and of high quality!
