Sometimes it seams like to only solution for a bad hair day is a hat. But Momgadget.com’s newest beauty expert, Mazey Denman has a few tips for some of the most common crazy hair problems.

Crazy Bed Head: When you wake up in the morning with crazy bed head, wet your hair down and condition it. Rinse with cool or cold water. The cold water helps smooth the cuticle and give you shinier hair. Washing your hair everyday isn’t necessary and it can be damaging.

Blow drying Blues To cut time out of blow drying, towel dry your hair really well and blast dry your roots. Then when hair is 90% dry, flip head up side down and use the cold setting. This helps lock in body and cold air smooths the cuticle bringing back shine. Using your fingers to smooth your hair while drying allows the natural oils on your hands to help with smoothing and shine.

Have dry or dull looking hair? Try a hot towel. Wet your hair, shampoo it first if you prefer. Apply conditioner and wet a towel with hot water… as hot as you can stand. Wrap the towel on your hair and let it set for 10-30 minutes. This is an easy way to do an at home conditioning treatment.

Cant stop scratching that scalp? Grab a bottle of Tea Tree Oil. You can mix a few drops with your shampoo or apply it directly to the scalp. This helps stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth. It will also leave you feeling clean and moisturized. This also works great for excessive oily hair as well.

Taming the frizz beast. Leave your conditioner on at least five minutes before rinsing. When towel drying, try blotting instead of heavy head rubbing. Just a couple frizzy spots? Wet a comb or spray it with leave in conditioner. Be sure to avoid any heat.
