Food Saver

by Gayla Baer

FoodSaver V2840 Advanced Design Flip-Up Vacuum-Packaging SystemGadget Dad, Gadget Mim and I have all begun putting up our stockpiles of fresh garden vegetables and frankly, I wouldn’t even attempt such a task without the Food Saver.

With the Food Saver, we are able to freeze our vegetables in record time, unlike the old canning methods – and frankly, freezing them is just as good.  I’m a critic when it comes to my vegetables and if they weren’t just as tasty, I’d throw them out to the cows.

It’s really very simple.  You’ll just prepare the vegetables (NO cooking at all) place them in a bag, seal and freeze!

We’ve got 13 quarts of sweet corn down and what seems like a 100 quarts of beans to go.

We also freeze broccoli, cauliflower, cut green peppers (ready for pizza’s and more), quartered cabbage (for veggie soup) and much more.

If you have a food saver and have your own comments or ways you use it, I’d love to hear about it.

FoodSaver Vacuum-Packaging System starting at $142 and worth it’s weight in Gold!

Want to find a product that you use when freezing things. This gadget is something you can use to hold open freezer bags while you fill them. I do believe that this would make freezing alot easier. Please let me know if you know where this can be bought.

Thank you
