From The MomGadget Mailbox – MyThings Recall

by Gayla Baer

MyThings Recall Alert is for parents who are worried about all the toys and child-related products from China this holiday season. Instead of wading through the Consumer Product Safety Commission site every day for new recalls or relying on local TV news, parents can list things (toys, child & baby products) they own on MyThings.com, and we do the monitoring of both the U.S. & U.K. recall websites every day to find new recalls. Whenever we find a match between a recall & a registered item, we send an email notification to the user informing them of the recall. The service is free, and we only require a valid email address to register.

While it’s a simple concept, we are the only site that provides this service
today. Our mission is to provide useful online services that help people
manage and take care of the things they own, and we feel this new feature fits right in.
