What many people don’t realize about MomGadget is that I’m a major pet lover – emphasis on the major! At the present time I have FIVE dogs! One is in the process of being re-homed, but no matter how you look at it, that’s a lot of fur!
I know many people avoid having pets simply because they don’t want to deal with the excessive amounts of fur that end up on the furniture or on their clothing.
There is a product line on the market that makes it entirely possible to have the pets you love while looking like you are in a pet free home! You really can have the best of both worlds.
In fact, someone just commented to me last week how they could not believe my home was home to five dogs – there’s not a bit of fur to be found on my furniture, carpet or clothing. That’s important to me and was refreshing to hear someone notice my efforts.
My secret – there’s not much effort!
FURminator products work wonders. Most of my dogs don’t shed to begin with – but one, the Jack Russell mix, she loses her hair in handfuls – mostly during storms and if I try to lure her into the car. I really put FURminator to the test – Maggie got a good once over with a few of the Furminator products -

I agree we have a lab and two long haired cats and this product worked great!!
We have two dogs and two cats. The cats shed most of all. I was embarrassed when a guest pet one of the cats recently and fur was flying everywhere. We really need that de-shedding tool!
I love it! I so need the furminator with our 5 pets shedding all over our house. I swear I sweep up an extra dog every time I get the broom out. I’m checking it out. THanks for the info.
I have a German Shepherd- before I brought him home from where he was being given away, I took him to the groomer. Yea, like that’s gonna happen every week, month, year…..
I think they charged me an extra $15 to use the furminator on him – and that was after having the “works” done on him. The groomer said that he’d shed for a couple of days and then he should be good for about another month! WOW!
So I thought, ok, I’m gonna buy one. The cheap skate that I am, spent multiple hours (that I’ll never get back) scanning the internet and pet suppliers to get a great deal – to no avail. But I was NOT going to let that deter me, if I wasn’t going to find an inexpensive Furminator, I was determined that I’d find it’s less expensive similar equivalent.
I found one at one of the drug stores, it only cost about $15+.
HAHAHAHAHA Boy, did I get over!!!!!
I get it home, take it out of the package, my dog lay wonderfully still in anticipation of his brushing…snap. Not like “Oh, Snap! I forgot to take the shield off” – It was just “SNAP” like THE &$#@?+”} BROKE!!!!
That was about a year ago now. And even though the handle broke off, I’m still using the comb. LOL. It works great. However, I can’t help but wonder if having a handle might make it easier LOL!
Moral of the story – Sometimes when you want it your way – you’ve gotta go with the compromises.
For those of you who have pets that are heavy shedders, let me tell ya – these things are incredible. Sometimes I think I’m gonna comb my dog bald, I’m removing so much fur!
It’s been getting cold the past few weeks, which reminds me, Killer (does NOT live up to his name, or his looks at all) needs some attention with his comb. The clumps are so large, that it’s very easy to sit in the living room with a bag and just stroke, pull and toss – repeat.
Now, if I only wasn’t so cheap to buy a vacuum that would pick up what he’s left behind on his own…hmmmm…I wonder if I could use the comb?

That is great advice. We have a Fox Terrier who, as you probably already know, is a ‘shedder’. So much so that we have to cover the couches and arm chairs with various covers.
I never new that this was available. We probably won’t recognise our sofas after using this.
I wrote a piece on dogs that hopefully you might like to check out. I would welcome any constructive criticism.
I take it from the last comment that the Furminator is expensive?

i think that basic dog grooming should be done on a daily basis like combing the dog hairs-’-
