Gadget we’ve heard about Vue Personal Video Network

by cathy

Momgadget loves gizmos and gadgets, but there’s never enough time to test them all.  But, in keeping with our commitment to let you know about the latest we’d like to share what we’re hearing about the Vue Personal Video Network.  When it comes to products that  make it easier to watch your kids, this sounds like something we’d like to try.
The next generation of the Vue allows mom to place wire free cameras virtually anywhere inside or outside the home, allowing her to keep a watchful eye at all times. Whether it’s monitoring the kids playing in the pool while cooking dinner or checking in on the babysitter while at work, this system allows the Vue user to have access to cameras from virtually anywhere, via the Internet or through the free VueZone smartphone application for the Blackberry, iPhone, and Android. The added motion detection feature alerts users via e-mail or text message of activity taking place wherever the cameras are located. With simple installation (no software to download or wires to navigate) and viewing capabilities from a personalized and password-protected my.VueZone.com account, the Vue can provide moms with an easy-to-access “peace of mind”.

Real Life Examples
•    Working moms can rest assured their kids arrive home safely from school via the VueZone phone application even if she can’t talk on the phone.  The busiest mom can now take a moment to check-in, from the car or the conference room. With one touch of a button, mom can transport herself to the kitchen long enough to see her children walk through door.
•    As any multitasking mother knows, it is difficult to keep an eye on dinner, assist the service repair man and watch her children playing outside all at the same time.  The Vue enables mom to have an extra set of eyes, so the dinner won’t burn while supervising that game of soccer in the backyard.
•    The Vue is not limited to children supervision.  Mom can find security that her home stays safe while on vacation through the ever watchful eye of the motion detection feature.  When activated, the VueZone app will send an automatic alert notifying her of unusual movement.  The new weatherized cameras allow her to set up shop outside as well, so she’ll receive warning before an intruder reaches the front door.
Price/Locations:
The system is available at VueZone.com, Amazon.com and Costco, with bundles starting at $179 with additional cameras starting at $99.

I think you have to be careful with this you don’t want to be so paranoid that your kid can’t even enjoy his life. You need to build trust to. If you abuse trust then you could cause alot of conflict. I understand safety is important but overall I think we are becoming to paranoid.
