How often do you Stumble?

by Gayla Baer

I’ve not been overly active with StumbleUpon — at least as much as I would like. I’ve not been able to completely figure out the concept just yet. I do know that on occasion, I do see quite a spike in traffic on various blogs because of Stumblers.

While reading tips from Neil Patel, an Elite Retreat speaker discussing Social Media — I realized I might be overlooking real possibility here.

Listed in his tips, he suggests befriending 200 stumblers.

Well, I would if I knew how.

Anyone have a clue as to how I can make friends on StumbleUpon?

I try to click my little thumb up or thumb down as much as possible — though I do feel guilty for this one, I do exercise my right to vote :)

Outside of making new friends on StumbleUpon, I think the only additional tip I can work on improving is to leave comments. Why that never crossed my mind, I’ll never know.

UPDATE: Thanks to Wendy and her comment, I went over to StumbleUpon and was able to figure out how to get to individual profiles.

To find individual profiles to add as friends the profile link will look like this:

http://momgadget.stumbleupon.com/  My Username is MomGadget – feel free to add me and to leave your link in the comment of this section so I can add you back :)

I feel like my day is complete now!  Yeah!

I had issues with leaving comments at first, but another I never realized was that you also need to respond to comments left on your blog.

Good tip Homemom :) We do tend to forget that aspect, don’t we? I am so guilty of that sometimes.

When you get to someone’s StumbleUpon profile page, in the upper right hand corner is a button to “add as friend” or something like that. What’s your username over there? Ive had a hard time finding the friends I know use SU in order to add them! :)

Wendy, thanks for the tip! I think I figured it out FINALLY! :) I’m building my buddy list as I type!

Thanks for the tip Wendy, I just logged back on to find it.

Yup, I’ll jump on the Clueless Wagon for this one! :)

I’ve seen some great traffic spikes from S/U, but I could never figure out how to add friends until reading both Wendy and Gayla’s posts.

I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, so you’ll have to excuse me as I go wipe the egg off my face… ;) ~

Hmmmmm, thanks for the info!

I’m a regular stumbler but haven’t bothered with stumble friends.

Regardless, what a superb invention it has been for finding relevant blogging content!

I love StumbleUpon. You never know when a couple thousand people will end up on your site because of some post you never expected anybody to read. I added you Gayla.

I feel so popular ::blush::
