Last week, Tuesday to be exact, I took one son to the doctor to find that it’s suspected that he is in the early stages of appendicitis. They drew blood for some tests and put him on restriction from physical activity. Ok. Fine. I can deal with a whining kid wanting to wrestle but can’t. No. Problem.
Friday afternoon, 3:45 PM, I get a phone call from the school – the other son has been injured in wrestling practice and it’s suspected he ‘broke’ something. They never told me what that something was — so I rush down to the school only to be met with the First Aid Unit that’s there to transport him to the local ER.
Sure enough, he had broken his clavicle.
God help me, this is going to be a LONG 6 weeks!

Uhoh, where’s the rest of the story?
My oldest son had an attack of appendicitis on Thanksgiving weekend last year. Fortunately my parents were visiting because my youngest son was too old to stay home alone and we were gone all night. We went to the hospital at around 10pm. He was operated on around 4am and we went home for a nap around 8am and then back to the hospital. What a day that was!
Oh, Gayla…. what a time! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! I hope all the young’uns are soon hale and hearty again. Thank heavens they bounce back! You, on the other hand, deserve unlimited bubble bath time and some serious pampering!

That’s terrible. You have my complete sympathies. It seems like when it rains, it pours.
wow, I don’t envy you. Hang in there though! You’ll get through it.
Many Blessings,

wow, when it rains it pours. At least it happened when a lot of the time he’s out of school… wait, that might be worse
