I’m Saying Thank You in a Big Way

by Gayla Baer

thankyou.jpgThanks to David Airey and Dawud Miracle – I’m MomGadget Does Follow :)

I had no idea I was being so darn stingy! Please forgive me.

Now, every time you comment here on MomGadget, you will be getting a little link hug from me.

Please make sure to check the links above so you can better understand this whole no-follow versus do-follow rule a bit better.

I had no idea!

I feel my day has been very successful now — I’ve learned something very valuable that I am in turn able to pass on to you.

Thanks David and Dawud!

You’re very kind, Gayla.

I’m always happy when someone finds something of interest on my blog.

Ciao for now!

Gayla, I second David’s motion.

There’s a movement growing on stop using nofollow, so pass the word.

I’ll be passing on the information — count on it. :)

I’ve got to get around to putting that plugin in. I haven’t been doing much actual blog upkeep recently.

The one thing that I’m surprised nobody has mentioned yet is that when you don’t use the nofollow in the comments, all of the URLs that commentors leave are going to get some of that page rank type of benefit. That means any links that you actually put in the post are going to get a little less link love than you might have intended them to get.

Having said that, I’m still not a fan of not using the nofollow because only Google seems to pay any attention to it and it seems to have been created just to make their lives easier.

Mike ~ So many bloggers measure their success by the levels of traffic they get. I’ve actually had people say they get very discouraged by the low levels of traffic.

I think in the end, Google, Yahoo and AOL use each other as business models and will ultimately be working on the same playing field. So I’d rather be on that boat before it set sail. :)

Great to hear that more and more blogs are taking this step now! I wrote about the redundancy of nofollow a while back and I hope that, with so many people and more influential blogs starting to remove the nofollow, newer versions of Wordpress (and other platforms) will give bloggers the choice without having to install another plugin.

I follow, too! It’s a growing revolution, lol! Good job spreading the word.

Love Do Follow, and just blogged a whole list of sites using it that’s making the rounds across the internet.
