Any time you enter a contest or order an item by mail, your name can bed up being sold to other companies. To keep your information private, write “NO MAILING LISTS” beside your contact information, and always check the box opting out of mailing lists when you give up your address.
Get Preferred Service:
Remove your name from national mailing lists by registering with the Direct Marketing Association’s Mail Preference Service. You can register online at http://www.dmaconsumers.org/cgi/offmailinglist - there is a $5 charge or you can send your request to:

Scrap Credit Card Offers:
Call 888-5-OPT-OUT – A recorded message will prompt you to leave your name, address, phone number and social security number. There’s nothing to worry about here though, because they already have access to that information – so you are safe to leave your info.
