Mobile Application That Reduces the Dangers of Texting While Driving

by Gayla Baer

DriveSafe.ly, a free mobile application that reads text messages (SMS) and emails aloud and automatically responds, will officially launch on September 23, 2009. After several months of beta testing, DriveSafe.ly is ready to launch a full version of its application, which will be universally available as a free download for consumers. This free, easy-to-use application was designed specifically to help combat the dangerous, often deadly trend of “texting while driving.” The full version will offer more robust features and functionality than the beta version such as a more diverse word bank, a variety of additional options and a whole new look. Certainly this would have to render the habit less dangerous, but I think the mere ability to turn a phone on and off while driving is too much for teens to handle at times.

“Reducing the danger of texting while driving” seems like an oxymoron. The distraction caused by texting, changing a CD, talking on a cell phone, etc. is the real danger. Any distraction while driving is a bad one.

Now this would really make some accidents less and also everyone will finally get to know what exactly is defensive driving.

Its really more important to the disable people than us, as we also can utilize this but disable people who are blind can get gr8 help from this.
