MomGadget Review: Barielle Fortifying Nail Builder
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s no other way to say it: I have crappy nails. They’re thin, the bend, tear and break easily. It’s not medical- nor diet-related, just a fact of life with me.
I’ve tried many products that are supposed to keep your nails stronger. For quite a while, I was using an Opi product that I was happy with but I’m always looking to see what is available and what works.
I was offered the chance to try Barielle Fortifying Nail Builder to see if that would help my nails. The day after I received my sample in the mail, I cleaned my nails off of polish and fortifier (Sally Hansen, I believe) to try this one. The directions say to put one coat on clean nails every 5 to 7 days. It can also be used as an undercoat.
I’ve been using it for a little over a week now and this is what I’ve found:
- It dries as quickly as it says
- It’s a good undercoating
- It’s fairly strong
- It’s about the same as Opi in terms of durability
- The odor is not as strong as some other products I’ve tried
- It spreads well
The advantage of the Barielle for me is that it’s easily obtainable because you can order it on-line and Opi, I have more trouble finding. The price on-line is 16.95 and they deliver to both the United States and Canada. There’s also a clickable map where you can find a place near you that sells it.
