The monitoring is accomplished by connecting the sensor directly to your electric meter and entering data from your electric bill to the digital monitor. The data is sent wireless to a monitor that the home owner keeps inside their home.

The Power Monitor is the size of a large remote control and can be used to calculate the use of electricity by appliances in your home by using a button that is labeled (Tare). For instance your LCD TV uses $0.02 while an electric kettle uses $0.20 you can also turn your microwave on and the meter will go from $0.10 to $0.25 per hour.
