Simpli-EZ Jelly Roll Ruler
The Simpli-EZ Jelly Roll Ruler is a nifty tool to use with those fabulous little Jelly Rolls you can pick up at most quilt shops. If you don’t know what a Jelly Roll is you are in for a treat! Not a sugary sweet treat, but a time saving treat. A Jelly Roll is a roll of precut 2 ½” strips. A typical Jelly Roll contains about forty 2 ½” x width of fabric strips in coordinating patterns. Often times quilters will cut these strips into 2 ½” squares for use in Jelly Roll quilt patterns.
The Simpli-EZ Jelly Roll Ruler makes quick work of that task. Simply place the horizontal mint colored line along the bottom edge of your fabric strip and the vertical mint colored line along the left edge of your fabric strip.

Using your rotary cutter, cut the fabric strip along the right edge of the ruler creating a 2 ½” square. Continue until reach the end of your strip. The Jelly Roll Ruler has horizontal and vertical mint colored lines at 1 ½”, 2 ½”, and 5” intervals making it a versatile tool for use with Jelly Rolls, Honey Buns (1 ½” strips), and Layer Cakes (10” squares). Love it!
Simpli-EZ Bias Ruler
If you search the internet for instructions on how to cut bias strips for binding, you will find many “how to” techniques all of which claim to be quick and easy. Some will have you mark your fabric before cutting, others will have you fold and press your fabric into triangles, envelopes or even pirate hats.
With Simpli-EZ Bias Ruler there is no need for marking or folding. Simply lay your fabric out flat on your cutting table and position the Bias Ruler on the fabric so that the edges of the ruler line up with the top and bottom edges of your fabric.

Then using your rotary cutter, cut along the right edge of the ruler. Slide your ruler to the right and cut your second strip. Be sure to cut the top and bottom edges of the fabric as well. When you have finished cutting strips to the right, rotate the left side of the fabric and cut that into strips. Sew the strips at the angles, right sides of fabric facing each other. Quick and easy!
This ruler made of tough acrylic measures 2 ½” wide and when in the full open at its hinge measures 27 ½” in length. Easy to read black lines are placed at ¼” intervals both horizontally and at a 45 degree angle.
Simpli Ez Piping Wizard

This is an interesting little tool that serves one purpose; trimming seam allowances on handmade piping. It carries a hefty price tag of $19.95 so I would not recommend it for a one time use project. However, for the seamstress or crafter who incorporate handmade piping in a variety of projects, the Simpli-EZ Piping Wizard would be an invaluable tool. Create your piping with 1/16″, 1/8″, or 1/4″ piping and a bias strip that is slightly wider than necessary. Lay the piping on your cutting table and place the Piping Wizard on top of the piping. Be sure to fit the piping into the appropriate groove according to the markings on the Piping Wizard. Your excess bias strip fabric will be to the right of the tool. Now use your rotary cutter to trim the seam allowance. Slide the ruler and continue to trim. You will end up with the perfect ¼” or ½” seam allowance on your piping.
