• Gangs promise you money, but are really saying, “GIMMIE your future.”
• Gangs promise you power, but are really saying, “GIMMIE your freedom.”
  
• Gangs promise you protection, but are really saying, “GIMMIE your safety.”
  
• Gangs promise you a family, but are really saying, “GIMMIE your loved ones.”
  
• Gangs promise that you matter, but are really saying, “GIMMIE who you are.”
  
• Gangs promise you respect, but are really saying, “GIMMIE your self-respect.”

I’ve been a fan of the Prevent Delinquency Project for some time now and encourage every parent or child mentor to take a look at the program. Read it, learn it and live it! There are so many signs to watch out for that might mean the difference between your child landing him or herself in drug or alcohol addiction.

Prevent Delinquency has just launched another valuable program called G.I.M.M.I.E. – The GIMMIE Program is designed to help grow awareness toward gangs, their habits and the risk they pose to your family.

Please stop over, pay them a visit and help spread the word.
