I’m really having a Monday — lemme tell ya!

I’ve never claimed to be one much on the technical stuff, but today a greater power is really testing me in the techie department.

Over the last couple of days, most every time I attempt to visit a new page/site, I get an error

Try Again

Yesterday I blamed the weather. Since there were storms rolling through Indiana and my view of the southern sky left something to be desired, I shut down and called it a day.

This morning I woke to a crisp clear sky and still the same thing.

Somethings up besides my blood pressure.

Since I was trying to work on a website I maintain, I phoned tech support at ipowerweb first. They said it must be on my internet providers end because they register no problems.

So, I call Hughesnet. After waiting on the phone, pressing 1 for English, I did my best to remain calm while trying to speak with someone who could barely understand me for well over an hour — I was placed on hold.

Call was dropped!

I called back and somehow wound up in billing speaking to a super sweet girl that knew what my problem was but her supervisor wouldn’t let her help me because they didn’t have the proper tools.

At that point in time, anyone with a tech brain would have been ok by me!

I was transferred to another department where I was ultimately told that I would be placed on a call back list for level four tech support. I could anticipate their call within the next 72 hours.

What?

Nuh Uh! Mama can’t work that way!

Because the nice little gal that knew the fix let it slip that it had something to do with Norton, I began searching that direction.

Ultimately I wound up in an online chat with tech support there for another hour before that chat was dropped and picked back up by someone totally different and had to start all the way back over.

At that point in time I’d had a phone at my ear or a chat screen going for nearly six hours and accomplished absolutely nothing!

As best I can figure it has something to do with my Norton that is set to expire in 6 days and will NOT be renewed thanks to the handy list Dawud has put together for the blogging birthday of Essential Keystrokes.

In the meantime, if anyone knows what I should be doing besides waiting on another warm body to return my call in the next 72 hours, I would be so grateful.

Of course you do know that misery loves company right? Well it would seem Julie Bonner seems to be having similar problems. Only she can’t get on the net at all. I’m on the net — just surfing the web full of speed bumps.

How frustrating! How about this one – the first time I have a post worth digging, Digg is DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE – only me….

Are things any better? Thanks for the “bang head here”. I already feel a little better. :)
