Hey Gayla, I really think you made a good point on how the government can be really shady at times, I still can't believe frank was cleaning toilets at 79 and still not getting what he "deserves". Although this is ridiculous and unacceptable on the subject with medicare not accepting the medical issues. Just know guys, Health Care, Medicare are one of the most profitable business in the world. Great Review Gayla!! I’m so close to Canada I told my husband we should seriously consider emigrating! It would be great not only for us but more importantly our children’s future.

People don’t want the government to control health care, they rather a corporation that profits decides if and when they can get treatment. Not to mention the outragrous pharmaceutical profits so that people can’t even afford the medecines.

I am totally for socialized medicine too, money and health care should not be in the same sentence, if a person needs care they should get it.

I was surprised when I left the military that Health Insurance denied my Husband and I because I was pregnant–a preexisting condition. I had no idea how the health insurance industry worked and I thought it would be an easy solution for any other issues that we would face (not including the pregnancy), but they even denied my husband??? How’s he affected by my pregnancy. It was a real eye opener. We pay for our own health insurance. Our bills are anywhere a 1/3 to 1/2 the price of what an uninsured person would get because of the “magic deal” between the Providers and insurance companies. It still boggles my mind. I think as people are being expected to pay more of their health coverage and face the crazy pricing system, that the health industry is in for a much needed awakening. I do not believe a Government run system would be the answer. I think a more informed public will cause greater, more efficient change.

We deal with similar medical issues with AJ. Because of his medical issues our insurance will not cover some of his treatments. They don’t cover speech therapy, OT, PT, and some of his medical appointments because of billing codes, especially if they state anything developmental related. We just got a bill today for almost $7000 (from feb. 2006)

It is very scary – and what is so sad is I know first hand that these stories are not being made up – of course there will be many who claim they are, but denial is where they feel safe.

I have the DVD. It makes you sick (pun intended). If things don’t change my husband and I will work until we die. We can’t see how we will pay for medical care or insurance in 20 years if things keep on going in the direction they are headed. It’s very scary. The horror stories in that film are unbelievable. There are so many inhuman, greedy people in this world.
