The Face Behind The Blog Collection

by Gayla Baer

facebehindtheblog

When I’m browsing through the blogosphere and happen on a blog that captures my attention — one of the first things I look for is an About page. I have this ‘need’ of sorts to be able to put a face with the words.

It becomes more real to me that way.

One of my favorite blogging buds has started a new meme called The Face Behind The Blog that I think is a wonderful opportunity for many of us to get to know each other.

So, for my personal contribution… I give you me, away from the keyboard…

These are just a few pictures of my ‘farm house’ — It really is a house that blogging bought!

So there you have it! A little glimpse inside my life away from blogging :)

I’m sure that’s a little more then I was supposed to offer, but to know me, is to know where I live.

I know sharing a glimpse inside your life is difficult for some, so I’d like to leave my tags open.

If you would like to participate, leave a comment with your link and I’ll bump it up to the original post here.

Who will be next?

Thoughts Aside:

Mother milk plays vital role in the growth of new born baby. Medical studies have proved that breast feeding must be continued till the first birthday of the baby. For the mothers of new born babies, a variety of special bras is available in market which protects their breast with more care. If you have a new born baby and want to travel, go online and search for baby travel tips in order to make that travel comfortable for your baby.

Gayla – I love the pictures! I will be posting mine sometime in the near future.

That was fast! Thanks a lot for participating Char. Great collection of photos and I feel like I know you a little better. :)

David Airey :: Creative Design :: May 9, 2007 at 2:43 pm

I mean, Gayla! I just read Char’s comment and couldn’t prevent myself. Sorry!

Gayla May 9, 2007 at 2:55 pm

That’s ok David. If you’re going to confuse me with someone, I’m flattered it’s Char ;-) I’m sure in real life it would happen all the time anyway LOL

Char May 9, 2007 at 3:39 pm

Yeah, except that Gayla and I look NOTHING alike – so in real life, I don’t think we could be confused. Maybe Gayla and Wendy, but not me.

Gayla May 9, 2007 at 3:53 pm

Char you goof! It’s funny, you and I look about as much alike as my twins do. I have so much fun listening to people ask both my boys how old they are or when their birthday is and then seeing the expression on their faces when they both say the same exact thing LOL

No one would ever guess they are brothers much less twins.

Hi Gayla!
Just found your site and find it so neat to see the blogger behind the screen! We raise chickens as well and the girls show them for 4-H. Been checking out all your sites, you do good work girl!

Jean May 10, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Hi Gayla,

Just surfing and reading your blog a bit. I agree with you looking for the “real” person behind a site or blog.

Thanks for sharing you.

Lovely family and home!

Really enjoyed reading several of your posts. I’ll bookmark you blog & will be back.

Jean

Hey – I want MY kids to comment on my blog from school – that is SO COOL that Trey did that! :D

And it was awesome to see this side of you – especially as we’re getting to know each other better. I love your chickens (wish I had some) and wow, yeah, you are a country gal! ;)

David Airey :: Creative Design :: May 11, 2007 at 8:10 am

That was nice reading Trey’s messages. Sounds like you have a great relationship.

Hi Trey, if you’re reading this.

Wendy, looking forward to seeing your post with the face behind the blog!

I’ve updated my original post with those of you who have participated so far. Hopefully it’ll grow into an ultimate blogger insight.

Bye for now!

His friends at school think it’s cool that their mom is on the net for something other then shopping and games :)

I may be biased but I think I have a couple’a pretty special kids. We’ve made it through a lot together and I think we’re stronger for it.

Julia Temlyn May 14, 2007 at 4:32 pm

Thanks for sharing! It’s nice to put a real face to a blogger. Your house is lovely, too!

Gayla May 26, 2007 at 8:11 pm

Julia ~ Thanks for the compliments. I do love my little farmhouse :) I’ve always been one for the cozier things in life.

Maki ~ Thanks for commenting — After Dale Sr. died, racing was just never the same for me. I tried! of course being this close to Indy, one has to have a bit of racing in their blood.

Around here, blood changes with the seasons too — black and white during racing — red and white for basketball and blue for football :)

Oh I love your photos….I am not sure how this all works…I am not good at figuring out how to put all of those names on my post without having to individually post them….I will put a picture of myself up…and link back you and Misty who introduced me to this….your boys are lucky to have a mom who let’s them just write on the walls…..it’s great that kids truly have their own space…

How does gps work blog January 8, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Hey great to see behind the blogging curtain. It’s weird you always have strange expectations of what a blogger is really like. I met a blogger quite recently and he was exactly like my blogger image of him.
Thanks for sharing with the community.

Nice post Gayla, I love your blog it has a different approach than many of the other gadget blogs out there. It is also refreshing to see the face behind the blog, this is something that I will do when I find the time! Keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing to us a part of your life. A glimpse behind the human side of an excellent blogger is really something. Yours is a very interesting lovelife. And I envy for that. I wish I have the same. Keep on blogging and living life to the fullest.
