Nice. I want some of these pans. I am in serious need of some new cookware…and dishes and silverware and… I’ve hit that 11 year marriage mark and everything we got for wedding presents is falling apart at the same time.
These look nice, I wouldn’t mind having a set. And you say they don’t stick too?
you can find them for about $100 online. plus $16.00 shipping. sure read some negative reviews however. BUT….. i am still interested in them.
Poor quality! I`m dissapointed. The Pans stick, chip and stick.
I returned mine within a few weeks as the non-stick coating vanished quickly with daily use. The handles would also get dangerously hot.
Returned product twice as defective. Bottom of pan scratched easily & wore off. Non-stick vanished. Warranty dept. unavailable!! Have reported this to Good Housekeeping as they initially granted the pan its “seal of approval”. More & more people are finding this product not worth the money. Beware. Also, if you, too, are unhappy please write to Good Housekeeping & have them review their rating. Oh, & by the way, the Green Pan is produced by HSN’s subsidary, Ingenious Designs, so you must take their sales pitch with a grain of salt.
You’ve had these pans for a while now. How have they held up? Seems to be a few negative reviews here so would be great to hear from someone who has had some success.
Would not buy based on the reviews. Check them out on HSN.com. Also not a Joy Mangano fan, and unfortunately she is always on the air with Todd English during the HSN presentations for this cookware.
I am very disappointed by your opening remarks. That demonstates right of the top that your level of scientific understanding is poor. This leads me to believe that the rest of your knowledge may also be limited. You should certainly read more information before making an extremely uneducated comment like this in a public forum. Just ask the top 100 climatologists from around the world … don’t just listen to Al Gore (I’m guessing you are a Republican?) Sorry but the truth hurts!
I’m glad you feel secure enough to be disappointed in my comments, I only wish people who were so cutting were ballsy enough to leave their real contact information.
This “public forum” happens to be my blog. It’s a place I created to say what I thought about various products. Just like you, that’s my right.
I am and always have been a very vocal Democrat, thank you!
And – I’ve listened to several “climatologists” whom I believe are on to something when they say were cycle – we’re in the same “cycle” as we were some 50 years ago or so. Look at history, look at now and you see history repeating itself.
I’m all for protecting our planet, but I am just not convinced of anything yet. It’s not a crime to reserve judgment and not buy into hype.
Like an idiot, I trusted HSN’s ‘seal of approval’ and discarded all evidence of purchase. These pans were the cat’s meow and would last for years and years… The larger frying pan ‘worked’ for about a month of normal usage and then I found myself with the scouring side of the kitchen sponge. Wasn’t I doing this with my old cast iron pan??? I found it easier to throw the thing away and avoid frustration. My thoughts are ‘don’t waste your money’.
Buy Swiss Diamond. Forget Green Pan. Wah-hey!
Wow, I was really excited about this product until I read all of the comments. It seems that HSN is just cashing into the green consumerism. Interesting that companies like that actually get us to buy into consumerism by telling us we need something green. If you guys have any better green pan suggestions please let me know–I need to register for pans for my wedding.
They are terrible! I purchased them and am very disappointed that I threw my old cookware out. It was by far better than this set. Initially they worked well – but have since burned, lost their finish and have no right in the world to be called non-stick. There is nothing that will not stick to this pan – even with non-stick spray! They are the worst purchase I have ever, ever made. I will complain to HSN and to Better homes. DO NOT BUY THESE PANS!
ok, now I’m in Malaysia and green pan is being promoted through the Asian Food Network channel (TV satellite). I’ve read so many more negative than positive reviews. Only thing I can think about is the type of stove? that is used when cooking with them. Over here we have gas stoves more than electric as electricity is costly. What would be the reasoning behind so many negatives and then so many positives? Why do people’s opinions re: green pan differ so much? I want to purchase it but now have many doubts. Can you help?
Pure junk, everthing sticks and they are very hard to clean, even after a night of soaking .I feel cheated…
If after reading all the negative reviews you still want to try these pans, I would suggest you buy one single pan. That’s what my husband and I did.
We were delighted with the pans for about two months–it was fantastic! Just as promised, the food did not stick or burn. Then the coating started chipping away–small little chips which the literature said would not compromise the performance–but the food began to stick and the clean up was worst than our stainless steel pans. Shortly after the third month, which was well beyond our HSN return date, we stopped using the pan.
Yes, we followed the instructions on how to prepare the pan before using it. Yes, we used non-metal utensils. No, we never but it the dishwasher.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to share my review on the Green Pan. I tried to post a review on the HSN site, but my comments weren’t accepted because my review was greater than 90 days from the date of purchase.
What? HSN website won’t take your comment past 90 days from the date of purchase?
Sounds like HSN is a load of crap…
Don’t waste your money! Food sticks and the pans stain. You better cook on very low temp or you have a major mess. You still have to soak like with any cheap pan. No non-stick spray? Yeah, right!
I am surprised to read so many negative comments about these pans. I mean, the advertisement was so convincing and I’ve been wanting to buy it. This is my first time browsing on green-pan, and I believe the negative comments better than the positive ones (which are not many). I get the idea that HSN is mis-using people’s awareness of having to start protecting the world by using everything from greens. From the reviews I have read, I most probably would never buy these pans, at least until there is new green-pan which really works! Btw Mrs. Mccord, I thought the pan can only go up to 450 C, at least that’s wad it’s said on the adv (is it 850 degrees Fahrenheit you were refering to?)
The green pan is the worse cookware I have ever used. I think it is a crime to continue to lie to the public and they continue to do it. The first couple of times it worked fine. I was ready to get a complete set and then it started sticking badly, I reread the directions and watch HSN promotion again and decided the pans are junk and HSN are not responding to customers complaints. Won’t even accept them. I do not recommend green pan or HSN.
The Pans are terrible cause they stick and leaves a brown burnt film… They are a rip off … I bought a whole set too… frying pan, grilling pan, pot and sauce pan…. very disappointed… I don’t recommend it at all… Don’t waste your money… How do we get our money back or better yet , new ones… these should be recalled.
The pan stuck like crazy after a few months. I think i left more salmon on the pan than the meal I was preparing. I have no idea how to even get a replacement.
I had never ordered something from a TV shopping network before, that is, until these pans. I was channel surfing and landed on HSN when I saw the “chef” frying eggs and showing how the eggs effortlessly slide across the surface of the pan. As the one who does the dishes in the family, I was sold.
Never again!
From day one, EVERYTHING sticks to these pans! And when it doesn’t stick it burns. On medium heat, I actually burned the bacon with these pans–that’s right! Greasy, oily, bacon got stuck and burned on these pans! And eggs? Even with oil, forget it. Cook three scrambled eggs so that you can get about two on your plate. I’d be better off cooking my eggs directly on the range surface. They must have had WD-40 on the bottom of those eggs I saw sliding effortlessly in the pan on HSN. I’m pissed! They have no right to be making such claims when virtually nothing fries well with these pans.
I dislike the idea of consuming teflon just like everyone else, but the answer is definitely NOT these pans. I won’t be buying from HSN again.
Wow. I’m surprised to read all these bad experiences with Green Pans. We got one pan as a gift last Christmas and we’ve been using it and loving it ever since with none of the problems reported above. We’re not particularly gentle with it either – it gets used about four times a week and goes in the dishwasher every time. We’ve been thinking about getting a complete set to replace our old pans, but now I’m wondering if we didn’t get lucky and get the one fluke pan that was actually good.
we purchased a set of GreenPan Cookware and I’m interested in obtaining information as to whether individual pieces can be purchased and if so, where………..
Thank you
Individual pans can be purchased at Target.com
I too bought these pans and it does say you can put them in the dishwasher. I think they work fine but some of the food does stick. Now the reason I a writing on this blog because if you do put them in the dishwasher to wash, The handles get filled with water and then leak when you are cooking. It was a mess!
I bought these pans and to echo all the negative comments they are completely junk. Just cook a steak in it and try and get it clean, IMPOSSIBLE.
Isn’t it funny that when you watch the info commercial that they never show them cleaning up a pan after using it. I feel so bad for all the people that are buying the pan. Oh yeah and forget about getting any sympathy from HSN
I also bought some Todd English cookware and his new Green Pans. Have been very disappointed in all of them . I cannot stand Joy Mangano and refuse to watch when she is on I pity her husband having to listen to her high pitched ,whiny, nasal, irritating voice all the time.I can turn her off he can’t.
I was so excited to see these pans come out. My son can not excreet the almuminum in his body so I can not use aluminum or teflon. That is why I bought the full set and donated my old non-stick pans since they were still in very good shape. I have had for 5 months now. Both my frying pan sticks so badly when we make scrambled eggs and we have always used oil…never used non-stick spray. We made tips in the grilling frying pan and we had them medium rare. We had them on a little higher heat to sear. The pan was all black and it doesn’t come out. I am VERY, VERY dissapointed with these pans. My mother just ordered these from HSN and I am telling her to send them back!!!! I have left a message at Ingenious Design, but now after reading all of the negative comments I am wondering if I am even going to hear back from them. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!
These look nice, I wouldn’t mind having a set. But seems to me little spicey price.
I have no expertise when it comes to legal matters. Just how does the process of a “Class Action Lawsuit” begin? Anyone?? I’m guessing there’s enough people who didn’t think to see this thread (or others very similar) to see that these things aren’t worth their weight in AOL CD-ROMS. I’ll be the first to step up and sign when one begins – please notify me.
My story reads much like the others; never has the phrase “caveat emptor” been felt so profound as the day my morning eggs turned my new (1 month old) green pans a horrid hue of burnt brown. Albeit I don’t have a culinary degree, I know how to cook an egg, and I can cook it well – with the right tools that is. This major malfunction was not user error, it was fully piss-poor product; and it wasn’t just the small (egg) pan, but the large pans also that took on the same nasty “you can’t cook for s**t” appearance. I did not put them in a dishwasher, I did not put them over high heat, I did not put them in an oven, I did not put them under scrubber. (For 1 month) I used them lovingly, I used them carefully, I used them respectfully, I even displayed them proudly. (from our kitchen pan rack!)
Why I didn’t I dig a little deeper to see what people were saying about these things – I don’t know, but take heed! If you haven’t bought these things already… run and run away fast. I’m not just using my employers time up here telling you all this for nothing. These things really suck, and yeah you’re gonna be pissed off like the rest of us – sooner than later if you get schmoozed by Joe (who is it?) mama, and Todd English. Hey Chef English, just so you know I’m boycotting all your restaurants too! How could you endorse what I know you don’t use and must know is absolute crap!
For those of you still reading my rant, I’m serious about that class action lawsuit – lets get the ball rollin’! – t
Are these comments being made about the green pans with ‘thermolon’ or the ‘anotized’ pans??
Thanks!
BOUGHT GREEN PANS FROM HSN. NEVER AGAIN! NO MORE HSN FOR ME. THEY ARE PURE CRAP.
I don’t know what you people are doing to these pans but I love mine. I have no problem and some things I can’t cook in them because it’s so non-stick I can’t catch the food to turn it over. You do not need to use your burners on high and you stll need to put some spray or evoo before you cook. Clean up is a breeze with just a rag and a small amount of soap. It’s alot easier to clean if you do it right after supper and don’t let it sit in the sink for a few days.
Green Pans do NOT hold up, they are a rip off and shame on any site that hawkes them.
I am an experienced cook, followed all directions precisely and got very poor results, especially pertaining to the non stick promises. Do not waste your money.

The green pans do not work as advertised. I bought the set with the assumption that “this is the last set of pans” i would have to buy as that was the exact thing the informercial on hsn told me. Its horrible. I would rather continue to buy a 15 dollar pan from walmart every 6 months than these expensive pans which have lasted less than 3 months. Buyer beware.
I can only testify to my own experience, but I rarely if ever cook on anything higher than medium and do find that with an electric ceramic top stove you onlyneed a couple clicks higher then the 6 o’clock position to sear a steak and can/must cook it somewhere between the 6 and 7 o’clock position. For hamburger etal, if in is less than 90% lean, between the 7 and 8 o’clock position s gets great results and has little if any stcking. Omlettes and eggs are the same or even lower in the heat requirement. (7 to 8 o’clock, they wipe out with a paper towel, and there never seems to be any of the fat build up on the bottom of the paps or the dutch oven. (why would there e on the dutch oven, eh?)
We bought the Green Pan when we got new appliances b/c we needed somehting that wouldn’t scratch the cermaic cooktop. Bought them off HSN, looked great on the advertising. WE HATE THEM!!! I’m soaking 3 pans for the 5th time in oven cleaner and they will not come clean. We use non-stick spray and everything sticks. I’ve still got scrambled eggs on the bottom of one of them even after soaking, scrubbing, putting in dishwasher on pot scrub, etc. One of my pans is completely black/brown and is very sticky. We’ve gone back to buying the cheap pans at Wal-Mart and they work great.
I can’t believe I also fell for these pans. I was so happy with them the first month that I gave all my old pans which were in perfect condition, what a mistake after a few weeks later everything began to stick, my pans looked stained no matter what I did to them and then scratches began to appear! But none of these are in the guarantee. I ask myself if the claim green pan makes is so great, why do they discard these as being a defect? They are making false statements and they should be liable and sued as well as HSN for refusing to except any negative complaints and continue to support and lie to the public.
What can be done? Is it good idea to call better bussiness beareau or consumer reports all some news media to warn people and confront manufactures of Green Pan?
And don’t forget about Earth Pan Cookware as well. Sandflow technology is where it’s at BAYBEEE! : )
We’ve had these pans for almost a year, and for the most part, we don’t have and trouble with them, and are pretty satisfied. NO, they are not completely stick-free as advertised. We DID learn not to use cooking spray–only makes the pans feel sticky, so I use SmartBalance spread on the bottom instead, and it works well. However, my son tried browning a bagel in one pan, and now it is hopelessly black on about a third of the surface. Thanks for letting me know that contacting customer service will be a waste of time.
I have the complete set and what a waste of money, my mother purchased them for me and I feel horrible she wasted her hard earned money on pure hype. Sure, the pans work the first few times but even with the most ginger of care they soon peel, warp and begin to smell funny when heated. There are brown marks on the inside of the pan that will never ever come out, I have been using them just because I have nothing else and am trying to save up for enamel coated cast iron. I took good care of these pans, every use the performance decreased. I am most concerned about the “green” coating on this pan, if it is no longer non stick that means I have probably ingested it.
I tried greenpan twice, what a waste………I did send them back. I have learned to try things as quickly as possible so they can be returned if necessary. Not only did the coating chip badly at the edges with gentle hand washing and barely any use; but, small drops of water got caught in the handle (I didn’t realize this before starting to cook.) I burned my hand when I picked the pan off of the cooktop and the sizzling hot drops fell onto my hand. DANGEROUS…made me think of the many cooks I know with dexterity problems who would be more at risk for this type of burn. Did not want coating flaking into my food or onto my cook top. The only think green about these pans is the money it makes for the producers, HSN, Joy, Todd, and the corporations who operate the landfills and dumps that they will and should be in. Again, these were washed gently and by hand. I notified Martha Stewart’s group which seemed to be marketing a similar product. I received back a very tacky correspondence about the way I must have handled the pans. I was just trying to green up the planet by encouraging people to discontinue selling merchandise like this that is basically disposable. You’ll be better off (yikes) nuking your food on a paper plate!
I am a chef, and my mother got me these pans for Christmas a year ago. At first I loved them, and used them constantly. I took good care of them, even though they are supposed to be dishwasher safe, I rarely washed them in the dishwasher, always washing them by hand. However, now after using them for a while, the nonstick surface has totally worn off, and everything burns and sticks. As a professional chef, I would not recommend these pans. They are great at first, but the quality does not last. I wish mom would have got me just one nice all-clad pan instead of the set of green pans.
The pans warp, too. Under normal cooking conditions, my Green Pans have all warped and do not sit flush to our glasstop cooking surface.
A friend gave us two sizes of fry pans as a house warming gift. I went online because she said she had seen some negative comments but thought they were really good. As so many other have said, they were great at first, nothing stuck. Soon things were sticking and now brown marks from the food will not come off the surface and I am not using these at the temperatures they say you can use. I have never put them in the dishwasher and “seasoned” them as they recommended. Mine may be only experiencing these conditions at a later date than others because I use gas heat source. I wonder if the people who have the problems appearing sooner might use an electric stove? I have no doubt that the problems will increase as time goes on. I would not buy any additional pans to go with these but will look at other manufactures.
Nice! I want some of these pans. This will be a great help for those who love cooking…
