The History of Adsense MomGadget Style

Google Adsense

The month of November brought a several major Adsense accomplishments for me  first I’ll list those accomplishments and then I delve a bit into the history as to answer some questions that have come up on our forum.

First, I had my FIRST EVER $60 plus day

Next, I actually had Three of them!

My First ever daily average was OVER $40 for the entire month

My lowest day of the entire month was near $31

Most (I’ll say 95%) of my profits have come from my niche (which shall remain a semi-private niche) – but it’s been an amazing month and will end up being a $4,000 plus month again overall.

Now for the Adsense history lesson

After giving into the urgings of another webmaster in the same niche as myself, I finally gave in and signed up with Google Adsense in March of 2004. The first month that I saw any click activity was in May of that same year and to the big old tune of two-and-a-half dollars.  I wouldn’t receive my first check until September 2004. To be honest, I hadn’t watched my stats at all during that timeframe. When I received that first check, I knew there must be something to that whole Google Adsense thing and began doing more research in how to make my ads and websites more profitable.

I have received payment each and every month since September 2004.

My first $500 plus check came in July 2005 and the first $1,000 plus check came in September, that same year.

What I have learned over the last 2 ½ years of participating in the Adsense program is that it isn’t as easy as slapping up ads and leaving them. You really have to work those ads. You have to create quality content that will manipulate the ads that are displayed.

I’ve grown to view my websites and blog as a department store and the ads are the displays.  If I want higher paying ads, I simply focus my content in the direction of the higher ticketed departments.

I’d just like to give you something to think about — If you were a business providing free services or selling products for $2.00 each, think about how much you’d be able to take out of that $2.00 to pay for advertising.  Now, think about having a $100 item and how much you could pay to advertise that product. In the words of Forest Gump that’s all I’m going to say about that.

I can’t wait until I can have a constant, or relatively income like this. I hope by next summer to get a check a month through a variety of different sites. This just shows me that with hard work it is possible.
