It’s hard to believe that things can freeze over and become so hazardous so quickly.
The images I shared earlier were not long after the ice began – these photos I snapped just a couple of hours later. In the one (bottom left) you can see the large tree from across the road that has fallen. The ground is beginning to get white with the sleet.
In the last one, you can actually see the barbed wire fencing running across the photo. It looks like a white line because the ice has gotten so thick. You can also see limbs starting to fall.
Yippee for March Madness!

Ack! You sent it our way! The temp is dropping. Our trees are iced up, the wind is blowing and it’s thundering? You gotta love March. I’m just waiting for the lights to go out, LOL.
how are you doing? Keep us posted
I hope that your power stays on and you have plenty of supplies to ride this one out. Prayers are with you.
Power is going out all around. My dad just phoned, he’s lost his power and is hanging by the fireplace. We’re good for now. Have the tub filled with water as a backup – lots of stuff prepared for the just in case.
Limbs are falling EVERYWHERE it’s actually quite scary
Gayla sent a new message just moments ago. They are doing fine, not sure if they’ll lose power or not yet but they are currently playing house. She’ll let everyone know as soon as she can.
I see you are kind of back now Gayla. I was wondering what does a farmer do in situations like this? ie, your poultry?
Those pictures are actually quite gorgeous! I live in Southern California, so I don’t have to deal with that, and can just appreciate the beauty. I am from Boston, so I rememeber the cold!
quite scary. I remember colds like that when I was very young but I can’t seem to remember being highly disturbed about it. I knew that it was a good thing because school was out
but not anything else.
Excellent Picture . It makes feel the cold through my spine
