The last few days, we’ve been hanging out with our birds at the Indiana State Fair.
Of all times for the hottest weather to decide to visit! Heat indexes are climbing to a sweltering 108 degrees. Of course I don’t think it would be the same if it weren’t blazing hot and hubby insisting the everyone walk the full length of the track around the fair. It took three bottles of water and an apple cider slush yummmmm to get me around that puppy. Just getting over that nasty virus sure took it’s toll on me in that heat!

Because of the blazing heat and the loss of one of our birds, only two of the three boys were able to take their birds to the show.
So far they’ve done very well though! One has two first places and the third will be judged today – while the other has two with best in variety and one best in breed.
Considering the heat and all we’ve had to deal with, we’re quite proud of what the kids have accomplished this year – especially since it’s our first year of showing.
The birds will come home Saturday and we’ll be finished with shows until October.
The count down to school starting is right at one week. The kids are ready and so am I!
Gayla’s ready to get her groove back!

Wow, it shows how hot it is with very little people. Hot here too, I can’t even go upstairs because I can’t keep my breath. The moisture in the air is just too much right now. I guess that’s what I get for growing up in the desert. Dry heat and all that, this stuff isn’t. So, I’ll now be online much more until this heat wave breaks. Doors shut, windows closed, etc. This SUCKS!
Congrats on the boys and their birds, I know they are proud and have one proud momma.
This sounds like fun! (It makes me wish the Texas state fair were here, but I’ll have to wait until October.)
Wow, girl, you live SO close to me, lol! I know it so hot out there, it is unbelievable.
