I have a ton of important documents on my computer. Tax papers for the last 5 years, loads of pictures that would be hard to replace. Winning this hard drive would allow me to back up all my important documents and make me less worried if my computer was to crash

Having already had one external HDD full of photos, videos and music choke and die with a head crash (Fixable, for $5K), I’m always on the look out for a reliable HDD I can back everything on to. Fortunately, hubby had copies of most of my pictures, but losing everything else was heartbreaking.

I have four kiddos, do I have tons of photos that I am afraid of losing! This would give me peace of mind, knowing all these pics are safe!

Sheila Hickmon November 14, 2009 at 3:38 am

Omg this would be great! I have so many pictures and videos of my kids that I would love to have protected. I would be crushed if I ever lost them! All my pictures of my son’s birth, birthday parties, first day of school. So many. Thanks for the chance!

I have lots of photos and very valuable items that I would like to backup daily with the hard drive. It would be very useful for me to have this and guard my data.

Claudia November 14, 2009 at 3:43 am

I don’t have anything backed up right now. Dumb. This would be great.

Angela November 14, 2009 at 3:46 am

I have over 1000 pictures of my kids saved on my hard drive. This would be incredible!

Allen G November 14, 2009 at 3:47 am

My laptop is loaded with all kinds of files. I would love to have this.

Amy November 14, 2009 at 3:49 am

I run my own business and all of my data is on my laptop, having this portable hard drive to keep my data on would give me greater peace of mind because I constantly worry that if my laptop crashes I will lose all of my important data. Being able to keep data on this hard drive would be such a great way to make sure that I don’t lose everything were something to happen to my laptop.

I love love to keep all of my pictures on it and it would be nice to have them in 2 spaces incase 1 gets lost

Derk Thomas November 14, 2009 at 4:27 am

I could back up everything instead of just selected items; that includes things like photos.

Kathy S November 14, 2009 at 4:48 am

Oh, I truly need this! Two weeks ago I had my very first BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) scare. Had just repaired my computer at the cost of over $300 (new hard drive and parts) and was shocked beyond belief when this happened. I have all my family photos (including my son’s wedding pictures that I took) on my computer, and pictures of my granddaughters, and would absolutely die if I lost them. This made me think very seriously that I had to get an external hard drive! I also have family finance records, music (which cost SO much!) and my recipe files. This Toshiba Portable Hard Drive could truly save my sanity!

joD November 14, 2009 at 4:57 am

I’m a new mom and my pictures of my babies from day one (actually, the ultrasound pics, too) are so precious to me. That commercial about the mom trying desperately to recreate her son’s baby pictures really struck me. Losing my pictures would be devastating. I’d mourn it all my life. I want to protect them so I can enjoy them. Thanks!

Edward November 14, 2009 at 5:08 am

Wow! this is exactly what I am looking for. I am a lover of photography and music, this would be ideal to store all my pictures and music and transfer them from one computer to another. SHOW ME THE HDD!

Sal Williams November 14, 2009 at 5:13 am

I lost almost all the chapters of a book I was working on…several months and many hundreds of dollars later, I had most of them back. Unfortunately, in the turmoil, my creative drive and intent for the book was also lost. I just no longer knew what I wanted to do and my characters stopped speaking to me. Heartbreaking. I would never ever let that happen to me again. You cannot ever replace exactly a beautiful burst of imagination or a wave of creativity. These I consider to be my most precious valuables. Great giveaway. Thank you.

Sonya November 14, 2009 at 6:03 am

My hard drive died recently and if I hadn’t had a backup I would have lost all of my kids’ photos! However, my backup drive is now too small for my hard drive :(

Peace of mind–I have lots of pictures–on our computer that is on its way out –and music on 4 laptops—with 3 teens it would be great to have a central storage –for all pictures.

Shelbie Johnston November 14, 2009 at 6:39 am

My computer is always messing up and I am so afraid I will eventually lose all my stuff on here, this would be so coll to have and save me when my computer finally bites the dust!

Auriette November 14, 2009 at 6:41 am

My computer hard drive contains family photos that have been scanned and repaired; new family photos that only exist in digital form; my graphic design work; my writing; my husband’s artwork and writing; and our tax records. Having lost files before due to faulty old floppies and persnickety CD-writing software, I would really appreciate having a back-up that’s easy to use and big enough to handle a lot of files. I like the design, too, although I do wish they had one in purple!

Gene-Allen Marshall November 14, 2009 at 8:12 am

I keep memorable pictures and videos from family and friends events, and plan to continue to record these events so being able to back all of this up on a portable drive would be helpful in the event of a system crash to save video editing progress. thank you.

Marie Noguerole November 14, 2009 at 8:42 am

This portable hard drive would be like taking out insurance to insure you have no losses of the most important things…family photos which irreplaceable, vacations videos that you share with friends and family, copies of important legal documents. Even copies of those all important thesis papers for college. The potential uses are endless and with the 500GB Toshiba Portable External Hard Drive you don’t have to worry about not having enough storage to meet all your needs.

Jennifer gersch November 14, 2009 at 10:01 am

keeping track of my pics

Jesus G. November 14, 2009 at 10:18 am

I am a photographer and I have a 40GB HDD on my laptop and would like this to store my photos. This would be a great add on and give me sufficient space to store my photos. Thanks for the opportunity.

Paul Sucharski November 14, 2009 at 11:41 am

I work on a lot of 3d and video projects that have tons of small and large files associated with each project. A reliable high capacity drive that is also portable would help a great deal in keeping these projects (and my sanity) intact.

Perfect way to back up all my media.

Aisling November 14, 2009 at 1:09 pm

The most important thing on my computer is photos, so I’d love to have a safe place for those. There are documents as well that I’d feel secure knowing I had a backup copy.

Renee Richardson November 14, 2009 at 2:34 pm

I have cherished family photos and videos on my phone. I also have a lot of books on my computer. I would be heart broken if something happened to them. Thanks for the great contest and all the info you provided :)

Carol M November 14, 2009 at 2:56 pm

You were reading my mind when you thought of this give-away. We spent a couple of days trying to get into one of my old computers that went down with a virus so that we could try to save some treasured pictures and Word documents that I really needed. Some I had given up and had to recreate because they were needed immediately. What a pain!! Now I’ve learned my lesson and my desk is full of those little thumb drives. I really said that I needed an external hard drive to back up all of my stuff and WHALLLAAA I sign on today and see your give-away. I save everything from hobby stuff, to documents that have to do with my home, as well as all kinds of business documents for my business.

Joseph November 14, 2009 at 4:27 pm

Like most of the posters here, I too have a horde (32GB) of pictures and videos that I would love to have backed-up elsewhere. I will occasionally burn some onto DVDs, but the sheer scope would be better handled by a second, external drive. :)

Lu Ann November 14, 2009 at 4:47 pm

I would love to win this for my husband. He has been wanting one so he can save his music and pictures. If he could have those tucked away that would give him great peace of mind.

Kathy November 14, 2009 at 6:04 pm

I have photos that are very precious to me and I would not want to lose those files.

Joseph November 14, 2009 at 6:11 pm

My definition of valuables may be different from another persons but pictures [step-by-step as my new home was being built - vacation of a lifetime - Japan] I’ve taken would have to number one on that list of items on my laptop I would like to preserve and protect.

I really need a portable hard drive to back up all files and music. I had my computor stolen this past year and if I had backed up my files I could of put them on my new computor. I lost so much and just last week I started looking at portable hard drives to buy. Would love to win this product but if not I think I would consider this one to buy. thanks for the review.
